Legolas paused then continued, "Aphylia. I thought that if you were still alive then you might be drawn to see the movie. You'd heard me talk of my adventures before. I thought that if you'd see the Legolas in the movie you would be reminded very much of me. And it worked, Aphylia. You came to the premiere, we saw each other, and here we are now. And we'll be together for the rest of our lives. I promise." Aphylia felt her cheeks burning, wow she didn't think he felt that much in love with her. But, it wouldn't work. "Lego.. I mean Orlando its a lovely idea but, I'm technically supposed to be 16 or so years old. And you are supposed to be 25. It doesn't work out. And your choice of stardom? You'll never work your way out of that. You can't just run away from it, and with a *16* year old? It would be the biggest scandal! I'd love to really, but our choices of lives right now don't work out as well as we want them to. If there was someway of finding Middle Earth or something then I would gladly go with you. But, there no longer is a Mirkwood. Or whatever. I'm sorry." Why did I just say that, thought Aphylia. I probably just broke his heart with my stupid big mouth. "Oh,"was all Legolas could say. He hadn't thought of it that way. All he had thought was to find Aphylia and be happy. Nothing of the future or how it would effect others. Legolas you idiot, he thought, you forgot to tell her. "Wait Aphylia there is a...." Legolas was cut off. Laura walked in, practically screeching in excitement. She didn't notice Orlando in the shadows of the couch. "Oh my gosh! Lia you wouldn't believe it! I had a, drumroll please, conversation with Haden Christianson. I am blessed!" "Thats great for you Laura. But, I was kinda having a conversation myself." Laura squints at Orlando, realization strikes. "Oh my Gosh! I am sooooo sorry! I got your autogarph huh. Your Orlando Bloom! That is so cool. Yah know my friend Lia Here is single? he he he! Maybe you could..." "Thats enough Laura," Aphylia pastes on a fake grin, "now would you leave us alone?" "Huh? Oh. Alone... But we have to go. Sorry, I was so excited about Haden that I forgot to mention we're leaving. Sandra sent me to round everyone up!" "Oh for the love of Pete. Can't I just have a few more minutes?" "Yes a few?" Orlando joins the whining. "Uh well not really. Maybe you can write each other? We have to go now Lia!" Legolas just trailed off, okay okay. I'll write or.. Wait aren't you staying in the hotel tonight?" "Yeah! Maybe we can talk again there." "Okay." Orlando watched as Aphylia left with Laura. I really blew it, he thought. If I had told her that there is still part of Middle Earth then we could be to together, forever. Sighing Legolas walked oer to Viggo and Liv to join in their conversation. The whole way home Laura, Sandra, and Molly gushed over the actors they had met and talked to. Aphylia sat in a stupor. Hendel dead. Poor Legolas. She tried to remember their conversation together. He had wanted to tell her something really bad. Stupid Laura. Friends always seem to pop up at the wrong place at the wrong time. Oh well. The rest of the car trip was a blur. When they go to the hotel Aphylia turned down the opportunity to eat. She went straight to her room. Inside she took off her elven dress carefully and put on some p.j. bottoms and a t shirt. She grumbled tiredly in the mirror as she brushed her teeth. When she was all done getting ready for bed Aphylia walked out onto the porch. She remembered Elijah Wood earlier. Cute kid, she thought. Woah. Aphylia shook her head. She was starting to sound like a grandma or something. Well technically though, compared to Elijah she was more then a grandma. Maybe to his cavemen relatives. She laughed at the thought. Balancing on the railing (do not try this at home) she started singing some songs in elvish. A tear trickled down her cheek. If only there was a Middle Earth still left in the real world. Legolas was already home in his hotel room. He was staring out the porch's glass doors at the sky. A sudden movement caught his eye. Aphylia? Quietly Orlando opened the screen door and shimmied through the small opening he had made. He stood in the shadows watching her. Her voice was beatiful. Her slender figure was perched, barely balancing, on the patio's surrounding fence thingy(yah know what I mean, right?). Woah! Flashback, thought Orlando. He inched closer trying not to make a sound, but the past repeats and he trips over a table with a thump oncemore startling Aphylia. Aphylia toppled forward with surprise and barely caught onto a metal bar that was part of the surrounding fence. "Help!" The cry was muffled by the wind. She felt her fingers slipping. and then she died! j.k. not really!.................................................... Legolas leaped over the divider of their porches and grabbed her before she fell. Pulling her up he sighed with relief. "Wow!"breathed Aphylia, "That was scary." "Its kinda funny though. This has happened once before." Aphylia sat on the concrete and cocked her head to one side. "Yes, it has." Aphylia remembered that night on the roof. But, her brow furrowed, the next day all heck had broken loose. Was this an omen? Aphylia looked fearfully at Orlando. "Whats wrong Aphylia?" "I was just remembering, that's all." She didn't want to trouble him. "The stars look beautiful tonight," Legolas looked upwards. Aphylia looked at him. His eyes reflected the glowing of the stars. She smiled. "Legolas, what was so important that you wanted to tell me?" She grasped his hand tightly in hers. He suddenly spun around, "Oh Aphylia its the best news!" His happiness filled the air around her, "We can be together! We can!" "What? How?" Aphylia was taken aback by his sudden enthusiasm. Legolas suddenly sobered. he looked at her, "Would you believe me if I told you?" "Of course I would Legolas." Aphylia punched his shoulder playfully, "come on! What is it? Your keeping me in suspense here!" He smiled and brought her close, whispering in her ear he said, "I have found Lothlorien." Aphylia stepped back a little shocked, "really? How!" She was excited. Part of Middle Earth was still here? "Were there elves? Is it the same? Did you find Mirkwood too?" "Well no not really, but I kinda have to explain a lot." He sat down on a patio chair and patted a space beside him. Aphylia sat and looked at him, "I'm all ears." Legolas cleared his throat and began. "When I was driving to a filming site with Sean Bean it was raining really hard. Landslides are kinda common in New Zealand and we kinda almost got hit by one. Sean swerved just in time and we landed on the side of the road. We were kinda freaked out and didn't know what to do. Me being and elf I can see far right? Well I looked into the distance and saw a small village ahead. I instructed Sean to start the car again and drive towards the village. He was like, what village? I can't see a thing! After awhile though we both saw the flickering of window lights in the distance. He sped up and we reached it pretty quick. The people were all really nice and said they'd call Peter Jackson for us and explain where we were. Sean went with them to help. I stayed by the car. While looking around I saw a forest on the outside of the village. It looked really familiar, too familiar. Goldish leaves were swaying in the wind. I was rubbing my eyes trying to tell myself it was all a dream. It couldn't be Lothlorien. But it was. I left the car and wandered to the edge of the village. NO familiar glow of elven life came from within so I didn't go in. But it was amazing. If Galadriel is still alive she should be happy to know that it has survived. We eventually got picked up by a helicopter and flown to the filming site, but the fact that there is still a fragment of Middle Earth still haunts me. Aphylia was quiet. Lothlorien still here? She was stunned. But, no elves? She looked at Legolas, he was zoned out, as if remembering. Sighing she stood up. Legolas snapped out of it, "Wait Aphylia. Whats wrong?" "Legolas this is the greatest news since I realized Orlando Bloom was you. Middle Earth still lives. Do you know how much that means to me?" "No, I didn't know. But, I do know that we can be together again. Like we should have been millions of years ago." He looked at her hopefully, "Right?" "I wish Legolas. I wish," Her eyes watered. There was a part of Middle Earth left. But, it still wouldn't work. They'd have to wait another, who knows how long. With his choice of stardom. She stopped, a tear ran down her cheek. Her lip trembled. "Whats wrong Aphylia? Why do you wish?" Legolas stood up and wiped the tear away from her cheek. His brow furrowed. This was not supposed to happen, he thought. She's supposed to be happy. "Oh Legolas. We would have to wait another thirty or.. I don't know how long. You can't just disapear! And with me of all people. I know I promised you before that I would go with you if you found Middle Earth. But I go back on that promise, for your sake Legolas. We have to wait again," Aphylia stared at Legolas's blank face. Oh god, she thought. I just broke his heart. Legolas looked at her sadly and shook his head. "I can't wait anymore Aphylia. Do you know how long I've waited for this to happen, for us to be together? I love you Aphylia. I don't want to be apart from you again." He stopped and looked away. Aphylia looked down at the ground. Why did this just have to happen? she thought. Why did stupid mortals have to ruin our lives? Another tear trickled down her cheek. She turned away from Legolas and walked back inside her hotel room. He didn't stop her. Aphylia part 9... |
