Chapter two
{note: I know in the books Mirkwood isn't portrayed like this, but I'm changing it for the effect of the story ;) }

Aurora headed back to her room, still thinking about the effect that Legolas had had on her. Why the hell am I thinking about a guy,or Elf, I guess, she wondered, when I should be finding out what's going on? There are more important things to worry about, like, how did I get here for instance? Or maybe why am I here?

Her thoughts were interrupted by a very annoyed Eiliya, who grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her out of her daze.

"Princess, where have you been? I've been waiting for 30 minutes for you!"

"Er..um, I'm sorry Eiliya...I.." she stuttered, "I..I got lost."

The elf rolled her eyes in disgust. "Got lost, did you? We've been here for 5 days and you're still getting lost? Come on, you have a dinner to get ready for..." She said, dragging Aurora back to the beautiful silver bedroom.

On the white silk bed cover lay one of the most beautiful dresses Aurora had seen in her life. It was the perfect color of lavender, matching her eyes, and it seemed alive with what seemed like thousands of green, light blue and lavender crystal beads. Versace couldn't hold a candle to this.

"I-I...get to wear that?" she gasped, her eyes wide in shock.

"I know, I know," Eiliya said, sounding disappointed, "it's nothing compared to what you wore last time, but it was the best I could get at such short notice."

Aurora couldn't believe that Eiliya thought so little of it...all of her outfits at home combined couldn't amount to how gorgeous the dress before her was. As she slipped it on, it felt like cool water against her skin. Eiliya sat her in front of the mirror and braided small blue and white flowers into sections of Aurora's newly long hair. She looked in the mirror and smiled.

"Perfect." Eiliya whispered, and Aurora couldn't help but feel a small shudder go through her body at the sense of deja vu.

The hall which Aurora had explored earlier that day was even more beautiful at night. As she and Eiliya walked to the dining area, she noticed the trees's silver leaves had an ethereal glow to them, and the water was illuminated by the stars and the bright full moon overhead.

"How romantic," she said under her breath, unwillingly thinking of Nick, but then pushing him farther back into her mind. I won't let HIM spoil this moment, she thought angrily. Her eyes widened again at the sight of the dining area. The silver trees she had just been admiring lined a long table made of the same silver material as her bed, it seemed, and a wide patch of silverish-green grass. There were silver and blueish-lavender lights flickering throughout the trees and above the grass, as well as above a small waterfall which ran into a crystal clear stream. The whole area was lit only by the moon, the stars, and the lights floating above the ground. In the distance, she heard a beautiful voice which sounded like the wind. My god, she breathed, where has this place been hiding all my life?

"Aurora, this way," Eiliya said, snapping Aurora out of her thoughts, "we are sitting over here, by King Thranduil and his family."

Aurora took her seat she looked around, still amazed at the beautiful creatures around her. Their moves and voices were graceful and they seemed to glow with the moonlight. She looked over, and felt incredibly stupid for almost falling out of her chair as she noticed who was sitting across from her. Legolas.
